EarthDog is a canine sport in which the dogs navigate underground, man-made tunnels to locate rats (kept protected  behind multiple barriers).

Successful dogs alert on & work live rats (but not rat litter),  follow a scent track,  navigate tunnels, recall out of the tunnel, and cooperate with other dogs. 

For many dogs this is a way for them to use their natural drive to hunt in a safe, constructive, and fun game.

Due to tunnel size, this sport is limited to Dachshunds and small terriers.
